Obituary of Fay Francine Rogers-Thompson

Fay Francine Rogers-Thompson, also affectionately known as Ms. FeFe and Faybird, was born on November 13, 1963 to Gennett and the late John C. Rogers at West Jersey Hospital in Camden, NJ. She was educated in the Camden City Public and Parochial School Systems, graduating from Camden High School in 1982. Fay was in the top quarter of her class. She excelled in mathematics, band, track and field, Upward Bound and College Congress. Her academic accolades upon graduation include a Certification of Excellence in the Century 21 accounting course and 1982 Who’s Who Among American High School Students. She continued her education at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, double majoring in Accounting and Criminal Justice. Fay was active in and participated in college life as well as working various jobs in the New Brunswick community. Fay accepted our Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a young age and her teachings and faith in God grounded her throughout her entire life. She was very active in her various church ministries and with the Harris County Board of Elections. Fay always had a passion for travelling and a sense of adventure. In June of 1982, Fay met the love of her life Daniel Thompson, Sr. In October, 1984 the two were married. This union was blessed with two sons: Daniel Thompson, Jr. and Demetrius Xavier Thompson. Fay was always the ray of sunshine at any gathering with her effervescent smile and charming personality. She brought joy to everyone she met. She adored and doted on her mother and had strong sibling bonds that will last forever. Fay departed this life on January 15, 2021, leaving a void that only God and time can mend. She is preceded in death by her father John C. Rogers, father in law Leother Thompson, godparents Eddie and Thressie Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband Daniel Sr., sons Daniel Jr. (Jasmine) and Demetrius, granddaughter Serenity K. Cruz-Thompson, godson Austin Rogers-Branch, devoted nephews Jeffrey Rogers-Worlds, Robert Ryan and Aaron Thompson, mother Gennett Rogers, mother in law Eugenia Riggins-Thompson, sister in law Latrice Thompson-Kamando, siblings Annette (Bruce), Judy, Karl, Kirk (Darnita), uncles Fred Rogers (Patricia), Robert Rogers (Karen), aunts Martha Blackwell, Mary Joyce Mullins (Julius) and Annie Jewel Holmes, godsisters Janet Smith-Cheddar and Olga Sellers-Gibson, godbrother Darnell Smith, sister in law Kee-Kee Thompson, brothers in law Darryl (Prezel), Paul (Mailene) and Robert (Sharise) Thompson, son in her heart Chris Benoit, special friends Pam Spivey, Henry Spivey, Cassandra Freeman and Geraldine Taylor, and a host of cousins, nieces, relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation & Funeral on Friday, January 29, 2021, from 9-11 AM a the Falco, Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Pennsauken, NJ.
