Obituary of Theresa S. Smurlo

Theresa S. Smurlo (nee Rendak), age 90 years of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2021.

Beloved wife of the late Raymond F. Smurlo. Devoted mother of Marie Esimio (Antonio) and Stephen Smurlo (Theresa A.). Loving grandmother of Michael Esimio, Jacob Smurlo, and Addison Smurlo. Dear sister of Victoria Crawford.

Theresa loved taking trips to the shore, especially Ocean City and Townsends Inlet. She enjoyed Easter flowers, planning parties, being a lunchlady at St. Peter's Church, watching The Mummers, and was very proud of her Polish heritage and carrying on traditions. Her favorite meal to cook for company was roast beef. Theresa also loved ice cream, treats from Aunt Charlottes and liked to drink "cheap sweet wine". She will be remembered as being strong willed, fighting to the very end. Theresa always tried to do her best for people. She was very much connected with her faith, being a parishioner at St. Peter's church for over 50 years. Above all, she always put her family first.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral and Visitation on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 6-8 PM and Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 8:30-9:30 AM at the Falco, Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM at the Church of St. Peter, 43 W. Maple Ave., Merchantville, NJ 08109. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chews Landing.

In lieu of flower, the family requests that mass intentions be made in her name to the Church of St. Peter at the above address.
