Obituary of Carmen Morales

Carmen Morales (nee Vega) age 73 years of Camden, passed away on July 25, 2022. 
 
Devoted mother of Joella Lacy (Scott) and Anita Singer (Matthew).  Loving abuela of Michael, Kaden and Sydney. Also survived by many cherished and dear lifelong friends.
 
Carmen was a beloved member of her community and a respected leader in elementary education. Prior to her retirement, Carmen was employed by the Camden Board of Education as Principal at the Rafael Cordero Molina Elementary School.  She began her career as a special education teacher in Camden and later served as Principal at McGraw Elementary School, Broadway Elementary School and Lincoln Elementary School.  After retirement, Carmen worked for a year as the Assistant Principal at St. Joseph's Catholic School.  She was extremely dedicated to representing and serving her community.  Carmen served as a volunteer member of Puerto Rican Unity for Progress (PRUP), the NJ Puerto Rican Congress and volunteered for the Carpenter Society at St. Joseph's Church in Camden.  
 
When not working or volunteering, Carmen was an avid reader and shopper, but most of all she cherished time spent with her grandchildren.
 
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 10-11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.  In lieu of flowers, the family would memorial donations to Puerto Rican Unity for Progress, 818 S. Broadway, Camden, New Jersey 08103.
