Obituary of Jesusa Ruiz
Jesusa Ruiz received her wings on July 30, 2022, at the blessed age of 96. She was born on June 11, 1926, in Patillas, Puerto Rico to the late Bruno and Engracia DeJesus.
Jesusa, affectionately known as "Cita" was a God-fearing woman and was a dedicated member of Holy Name Church in Camden for many years. She was a Cursillista and member of the Legion of Mary. Jesusa would often be seen at the church cleaning and cooking. She and her sister would usually work fundraising dance events in the church hall.
She enjoyed trips to any casino, playing bingo, dominoes and especially her scratch off tickets. She was a fanatic of the Philadelphia Phillies and the WWF.
Jesusa was predeceased by her son Natividad, her grandson Carlito Jr., her siblings Roberta, Norberta, Eusebia, and Roberto. She leaves to cherish her memories – her loving husband of 59 years Saturnino "Pepe" Ruiz Sr.; her sons Saturnino "Sat" (Shirley), Julio (Norma), Carlos (Lisa); daughters Ida (Albert), Maria; 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, brothers Antonio and Bonifacio, dear friend Sister Linda Stillings and a host of other family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Friday, August 5 from 6 to 8 PM and Saturday, August 6 from 8:15 to 9:15 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 642 Market Street in Camden. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
