Obituary of Sheila B. Diggs

Sheila B. Diggs, 83 of Camden New Jersey unexpectedly passed away on December 3, 2022.

Sheila was born on June 2, 1939 in Camden New Jersey to Myrtle Hollis and John Byrd. She was a lifelong resident of the city of Camden New Jersey. She graduated from Camden County College nursing program in 1982. She worked as a nurse helping others for over 20 years. She began her career with Cooper Health System and retired from Mediplex.  Sheila also volunteered for many years as a drug and alcohol counselor.  

Her quick wit and humor were loved by many. She loved animals especially her fur baby Chyna. Sheila always remembered and acknowledged every birthday, anniversary, and special occasion of those she loved dearly. She kept a go to list of the best bakeries in town. Sheila was fun loving, caring and compassionate. She loved people, bowling, dancing, arts and crafts, music, and was an avid reader.

Sheila was predeceased by her parents, sister Ethel Hamilton and grandsons Rahkeem Byrd and Ray Robinson. She is survived by her children Alonda Byrd, Michelle (Ray) Rose, Stephanie (Anthony) Williams and Kevin (Sonya) Byrd. Her grandchildren, Terron, Keyonna, Kayla, Jazzmyne, Isaiah, Sharonn, Aaliyah, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Sisters Carol Glasco and Jamie Ellis. 3 nieces and 2 nephews and special friends Carly and David as well as many other relatives and close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 9-11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.  Final disposition will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1818 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
