Martin Halpin

Obituary of Martin J Halpin

Martin J. Halpin of Cherry Hill, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family on December 20, 2022 at 81 years. Beloved husband of Mary Ann Theresa (nee Kienemund); Cherished father of Brian (Linda) Halpin, Christopher (Kara) Halpin, Erin (Michael "Mick") Ford and Matthew (Melanie) Halpin; Proud Grandda to Maggie, Hayden, Annie, Gavin, Matt, Keegan, Grace, Reilly, Maura, Ronan, and Mary and to his great-grandchildren Ford and Callahan.

Dear brother of Mary O' Reilly, Michael, Patrick, Senan, Vincent, and Lawrence Halpin.

Martin arrived to the United States from his native town of Kilrush (County Clare) Ireland in 1960.  He began working at Sinclair Oil (later Atlantic Richfield) and remained there his entire career retiring as the Director of Benefits for ARCO.  While helping to raise his young family, Martin attended evening classes towards earning his associates degree at Rutgers, and spent many weekends proudly fulfilling his role in the Army National Guard.

Above all else, Martin was a selfless man dedicated to his family.  Spending time with his wife in Cape May, attending his children's and grandchildren's school and athletic events, and enjoying quiet time with a challenging puzzle were among his most favorite things to do.

Martin's work-ethic, his love of his family, and his incredible sense of humor will live on for generations; he was a gift to everyone that knew him.
