"Gene" Fitzgerald, passed away on June 28, 2015, of Haddon Twp, formerly of Pennsauken.  Age 79 years.  Beloved husband of Elizabeth G. (nee Brooks) for over 60 years.  Devoted father of Betsey Smetona (Joe), Barbara Gale (the late Owen), Edward (Judy), Richard, Michael, Stephen (Jennifer) and the late Eugene Jr. and Dennis.  Loving grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of 3.  Dear brother of 2 sisters and 4 brothers.  Also survived by daughter in law June and many loving nieces and nephews.  Prior to retirement in 1998, Gene was employed at the American Water Company for 30 years.  He was a devout Catholic and lived for his family.  Gene loved his vacations down at the shore and was always easy going and a gentle man.  Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Wednesday from 6-9 PM and Thursday from 8:30-9:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Rd.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM at the Church of St. Peter, 43 W. Maple Ave in Merchantville.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.  In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations to St. John of God School, 1145 Delsea Dr. Westville, NJ 08093.
