Obituary of Dorothy S. Coyle

Dorothy S. Hoover-Coyle (nee Sherman) age 96 years of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023.

Born on July 24, 1926 to the late David and Catherine Sherman.  Dorothy was born and raised in Camden and moved to Pennsauken in the late 1940s.  She was a 1945 graduate of Camden Catholic High School

Beloved wife of the late Ralph Hoover, Frank Nelson and Albert Coyle.  Devoted mother of Diane Hoover Kane (the late Dennis) and the late Donald J. and David G.  Loving grandmother of Jennifer.  Also survived by several loving step children and grandchildren.
Prior to retirement, Dorothy was a special education bus driver with the Cherry Hill Board of Education for many years. Her caring and compassionate nature touched the hearts of the students she transported.

Dorothy was a longtime valued member of VFW 1270 in Pennsauken and then later became a member of VFW 7410 in Bellmawr. Her faith was a source of strength and guidance, and she was a devoted parishioner at St. Stephen's Church for many years. Outside of her work, Dorothy enjoyed memorable adventures traveling with her late husband, Al. She also enjoyed trips to the beach and camping with her daughter and granddaughter.

With a passion for fashion and a love for shopping, Dorothy embraced her style. Her taste and fashion sense brought joy to her life.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 6-8 PM and Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 AM at the Church of St. Stephen, 6300 Browning Road. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
