Obituary of Anna Marie Pompeano
Anna Marie Pompeano (nee Marchisello), age 97 of Cherry Hill, formerly of Haddonfield, passed away peacefully at home on July 27, 2023.
Beloved wife of Nicola Pompeano. Devoted mother of Annette Swanson (Christian Sr.) and the late Michael R. Pompeano. Loving grandmother of Ashley and step-grandmother of Christian Jr. (Stephanie) and David. Caring great step-grandmother of Cassidy, Corienne, Chaele, Christian III, and Cole. Dear sister of Phyllis DiMedio (the late Robert Sr.) and the late James Marchisello Jr. (the late Mildred) and sister-in-law of the late Filomena (nee Pompeano) and Alfonso Catalani, Yolanda (nee Pompeano) and Anthony LaRocca, and Michael F. Pompeano Jr. Cherished cousin of Mary Gilpen (nee Addiezo). Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Marie's faith was an important part of her life as she was a devout Catholic. She was an avid reader and an extraordinary baker. Marie also loved shopping, going out to eat, exploring new places, and especially trips to New York.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation & Funeral on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 10-11 AM at the Church of Christ Our Light, 402 Kings Highway N. in Cherry Hill, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
Flowers are welcome as well as memorial donations to the Special Olympics of NJ at 1 Eunice Kennedy Shriver Way, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Marie’s family would like to thank those who helped care for Marie over the past year, especially Kelly, Margaret, Myeshia, Maureen, Assada, and Adoma for their constant care and compassion.
