Obituary of Delia Lugo

Delia Lugo, age 69 of Mullica Hill, formerly of Camden, passed away at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland, New Jersey on April 10, 2024.  She was born in Camden on May 6, 1954 to the late Fredesvindo and Angelita (nee Cartagena) Lopez.

Beloved wife of the late Antonio; Devoted mother of Nancy Quiles, Adriana (William) Lockman, and Antonio (Veronica) Lugo; Loving grandmother of Tanisha, Eliesha, Jose, Celine, Monica, Antonio and William, great grandmother of Silas, Maya, Elijah and Athena, and dear sister of Jose, Rosa Salcedo, Sonya, Angelina, Freddie, Jimmy, Sorida, Norma Bass, Arnaldo, Elizabel Acevedo and the late Carlos, Gloria, Michael, Oscar and Angel Lopez.  She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Prior to her retirement in 2019, Delia was an administrative secretary at Holy Name Church and then at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Camden.  She had a heart of gold, always helping people in need.  She was active in the community, spent time feeding the homeless and was extremely proud of her Camden roots and Puerto Rican heritage.

Delia cherished spending time with her family and friends, going out on lunch dates with them and had an incredibly close bond with her sisters.  In her free time, she enjoyed going to the casinos and traveling; cooking, watching game shows and doing crossword puzzles.  

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 5 to 7 PM and Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 8:45 to 9:45 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 642 Market Street in Camden, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM .  Interment will follow at Harleigh Cemetery in Camden.
