Obituary of Juanita Mercedes Bruce

Juanita M. Bruce, age 93 years of Voorhees, formerly of Philipsburg, St. Maarten, passed away on July 23, 2024.

Devoted mother of Belinda Cowart (the late Seth), Elpidio Bruce, Ingrid Hewlett (Guy), Sharon Corbett (Dorian), Donald Rombley, Laurel John, Charmaine Lumpkin (Elliott), and the late Angel Marlin (Ingrid). Loving grandmother of Michael, Tamika, Seth Jr., Shirurah, Emoro, Malayka, Anelski, Sheldon, Sharyn, Sean, Brandon, Avery, Cherese, Kaomi, Teiyaunti, Makayla, Elliott Jr., and the late Nelson. Cherished great grandmother of 10 and great great grandmother of 10. Dear sister of Frederico Gibbs, John Gibbs, and the late Camile Peterson and Crispin Bruce. Predeceased by her parents Crispin and Anna Louise Bruce. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Juanita worked for many years as a seamstress. She was a very fashionable and stylish woman and would often make her own clothing and clothes for her children. Juanita also loved cooking, crocheting, and watching old sitcoms, including The Andy Griffith Show and Golden Girls. She also enjoyed watching the movies Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Mamma Mia. Most of all, she cherished time spent taking care of her grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation & Funeral on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 9-11 AM at the Falco, Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Harleigh Cemetery in Camden.
