Obituary of Antonietta Gallo
Antonietta Gallo (born Antonia Vittoria Regina) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at her home in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.
Antonietta was born on July 8, 1930 in Gambatesa, Italy to the late Tomasangelo and Filomena (nee Di Maria) Regina. She had one brother, Giuseppe Regina, who predeceased her.
Antonietta married her beloved husband, Luca Gallo, on February 10, 1949. He predeceased her in 1993.
Antonietta lived in Italy until emigrating with her daughter, Maria, to the United States in 1960. She often returned to Italy to spend time with dear relatives and friends. Antonietta and her husband, Luca, first settled in Camden where they grew their family before moving to Cherry Hill. At her home in Cherry Hill she would spend time baking and cooking her traditional Italian specialties for family and friends alike. When she was still well, she tended to her flower pots and a large vegetable garden, making use of the bounty to prepare incredible meals for her family.
Antonietta will be remembered as a loving, generous and caring person who adored her family. She loved being Nonna to her granddaughters who brought her light and joy. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.
Antonietta is survived by one daughter, Maria Gallo Fureman (Larry) of West Grove, PA. She is survived by two sons, Anthony Gallo (Jean) of Mount Laurel, NJ and Thomas L. Gallo of Cherry Hill, NJ. She is survived by her granddaughters, Olivia Gallo Klenotiz (AJ) of Newtown, PA, and Caroline Gallo of Philadelphia, PA. Antonietta is also survived by her niece, Filomena Regina, and nephew, Tomasso Regina, as well as numerous family members and dear friends in Italy, Canada and the local area.
Antonietta's family is deeply grateful to Svitlana (Lana) Letsyn who faithfully and lovingly served as her live-in caregiver for 11 years. Lana’s care was extraordinary. The family would also like to thank all those who thoughtfully brightened her days through the years.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation & Funeral on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 10:30-11:30 AM at the Church of Holy Eucharist, 344 Kresson Road in Cherry Hill, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
