Obituary of Julia D. Cream

It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing of our beloved mother, Julia Daisy (Tabron) Cream, affectionately known as Judy. She departed this life peacefully on November 14th, 2024, after a brave struggle with Alzheimer's dementia.

Judy was born on February 1, 1941, in Wilson, North Carolina, to her parents, William and Myrtie Tabron. During her youth, the family relocated to New Jersey, where she and her elder sister, Pat, spent their formative years. Judy graduated from Camden High School in 1959, where she met her high school sweetheart, the late Reverend E. Vincent Cream, son of the late Jersey Joe Walcott and Lydia (Talton) Cream. Together, they were blessed with four sons: Vincent E. , William Arnold, Carlos Lester, and Christopher Joseph Alexander.

The couple dedicated their lives to raising their family in Bethlehem Baptist Church in Woodbury, New Jersey, where Reverend Cream served as pastor while Judy held the esteemed title of First Lady. Later, they established Macedonia Baptist Church, where she continued her role as the founding First Lady.

In the early years of her career, Judy worked as a lunch aide at Forest Hill School, where she found joy in nurturing and providing meals for the children of Camden. She later transitioned to the Woodbury Child Development Center, where her loving spirit positively impacted the community until her retirement.

One of her most cherished titles was "MeMom," a name she embraced after her first grandchild was born. She took great pride in this name, always concluding her conversations with her grandchildren by saying, “Love you, be good, say your prayers!” Their affectionate response was “Always.” This heartfelt mantra became a lasting legacy of love and guidance for her family.

Judy had an unwavering devotion to the Lord, her family, and her community. She was a kind-hearted, dependable, and genuine friend, always willing to lend an ear to those in need.

She is survived by her sons, Vincent (VerNeen), William (Janelle), Carlos (Margeau), and Christopher; 11 grandchildren: Vincent (Vinny), Amber, Mariah, Myles, Jordan, Jonas, Julia, William (Bill Bill), Kyra, Cassidy, and Hannah; and four great-grandchildren: Amaya, Mekhi, Logan, and Jabari. She is also survived by her beloved older sister and lifelong confidante, Patsy Bates, sister-in-law Ruth (Vivian) Cream, along with a multitude of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 In lieu of flowers, we kindly request that donations be made to the Alzheimer's/Dementia Foundation in her memory.

The legacy of Mom's love and kindness will be profoundly missed by all whose lives she touched.
