Hayes, age 89 of Pennsauken, passed peacefully on October 2, 2014.  He was  born in The Ponds, Brigus, Newfoundland to James & Elizabeth Hayes; the youngest of 10.  Beloved husband of the late Theresa (nee Murtha) for 62 years; Devoted father of James (Joyce) Hayes, Colleen (Charles) Cerveny) and the late Terry Hayes Bullock; Loving grandfather of Kimberly Bullock (John) Samar, William Robert (Jaclyn) Bullock, Julie Bullock Lowery, Tammy Hayes (Bo) Taylor, Jon Hayes, Gregory Hayes, James (Jess) Cerveny, Jessica Cerveny(Chad) Bryson.  Dear Great Grandfather to Brenna Miller, Abigail Miller, Zack Taylor, Ryan Lowery and Austin Lowery, John Samar, Jamie Samar, Mason Bullock and Sophie Bullock.  Survived by his sister- in- law, Jen Hayes of Florida, and many nieces & nephews.  Gregory  graduated from Camden High School in 1944. He was an active sportsman who enjoyed playing football and baseball. He went on to play minor league baseball for the Boston Red Sox, and many local teams including,  RCA, Defiance, and the Hot Stovers. He stayed active with baseball,  and  coached  many seasons of  Little League with the Cramer Hill Boys Club. He was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Parish.   Prior to retirement in 1988, Greg worked for 30 years as a mail carrier with the US Postal  Service.  He also took up golf when he retired, and was proud of his 3 hole in ones. He became a ranger with the Pennsauken Country Club which he truly loved. His motto in life was, "Always have a reason to  get up in the morning," and his family will forever hold on to those wise words he shared with them.  Relatives & Friends are invited to the Visitation & Funeral on Monday  from 7 to 9 PM and Tuesday from 9 to 10 AM  at the Falco CARUSO & Leonard Funeral home 6600 N. Browning RD in Pennsauken.  A Mass of Christian Burial will  be celebrated at 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Stephen 6300 N. Browning RD in Pennsauken. Interment Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers,  the family requests memorial donations be made to American Macular Degeneration Foundation PO Box 515 Northampton MA 01061-0515.
