Please allow me to express my sincerest condolences to the family of our departed Sir Knight Philip. He has been a Knight of Columbus since 1953 and a member of my Assembly. The Assembly is strictly for Forth Degree Knights. The Fourth Degree is the highest degree and is the degree of Patriotism. When a Forth Degree member passes, we send a monitary donation to the charity the family requests. We used to present a Chalice but the churches now have a plentiful supply of them so the Knights now present our gift to a charity of the families choice.
