Tom was a close friend of mine, who I met while serving with him in Vietnam. After I came back home, I still had three more months to serve at Fort Dix. Tom opened his home to me each weekend. It was a critical period for both of us as we attempted to come to terms with our experiences in Vietnam. Tom was a friend when few could understand the anguish of our tours in Vietnam. I will forever think of him as my best friend, at a time when I really needed one.
