Motto, of Greenville, SC, passes away on January 1, 2012; age 70. Born January 4, 1941 to the late Charles Motto Sr. and Pauline (nee Riccobene). Beloved husband of Jane Potero-Motto; Devoted father of Phillip (Gail), Matthew and Paula Motto and stepfather of Elizabeth (Adam) Long and Katherine (Jason) Pierce; Loving grandfather of Eloise; Dear brother of Connie Motto, Rita (Michael) Nophut and Lee Guida. Dear uncle to Christopher (Regina) Nophut, Joseph (Christine) Nophut and numerous other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by in-laws Richard (Joanne) Potero, Cathleen (Russell) Campi and Mary Ellen (John) Greco. A United States Marine Corps Veteran; Mr. Motto was a graduate of Philadelphia University with a degree in law enforcement. Charles retired as a detective with the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office in 1983; then moved to NJ in 1986 and retired as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Security Manager for Hertz Corporation in 2008 after 25 years of service. Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at Noon at the Catholic Community of Christ Our Light, 402 Kings Highway North, Cherry Hill, NJ, where a Visitation will be held from 11:15 AM. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill. The family requests memorial donations be made to Vista Care Inc. (Hospice), 15 Brendan Way, Suite 100, Greenville, SC, 29615; and wish to extend special thanks to Charles' caregivers Delores, Annie and Shannon for their compassionate care during the past few months.
