Biography: CURCIO-VENTRESCA Vita Marie Elizabeth Of Voorhees, NJ, beloved Mother of Eduardo, dear mother-in-law to Susan, and best friend and dearest sister of Christine. Vita, whose name translates to "Life" in Italian, lived her life with love and loyalty to family and friends. Vita leaves a lasting impression as a wise and thoughtful adviser whose motivation and encouragement was an inspiration to all. Vita was among the very first female real estate brokers in this area, and the youngest Italian-American female in New Jersey to achieve status as Realtor and Appraiser. Her career as a Realtor© began in Camden, working with her father, P.A.Curcio, continuing through the offices she opened in Cherry Hill and Voorhees. Vita attended Temple and Rutgers Universities. An original member of the Camden City Civil Rights Commission, she was appointed by Mayor Alfred Pierce in 1961. She served on many charitable and business organizations in an executive capacity. Vita owned and operated WDVL-AM and WDVL-FM, and WKQV-FM in Vineland, NJ. As General Manager, she was responsible for creating one of New Jersey's first full time AM Spanish Radio Station and the first stereo FM radio station in Cumberland County. A recipient of numerous civic awards for her support of the Armed Services and Hurricane Relief efforts, Vita was host of the public affairs program "Amendment One". Vita was an excellent cook. She loved drawing and sculpting, and all forms of art, music, and current affairs. She adored family gatherings and her beloved pets. A memorial celebration of life is planned.
