Leonard and Dolores were high school sweethearts and were marred on June 6, 1954.  They attended many family gatherings and had many of their own.  They were party people and spent many good times in the Pocono Mountain resorts and the Jersey Shore.  They took some vacation trips to Canada, Carolinas and Florida and were frequent tourists of Washington, DC and New York City, where they saw numerous musicals.  Because Leonard had to attend scientific conventions, he traveled to cities in many states.  He did a considerable amount of skiing, fishing and grudgingly gardening.  Leonard kept close friendships with the high school forty-niners, at socials, luncheons and reunions.  He was an active member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Branch of the American Society for Microbiology (EPASM), other scientific societies and the Polish American Citizen Club of Camden County (PACC).  He was the founder and first editor of the newsletters for the EPASM and the PACC.
