Obituary of Cornelius Norris
Cornelius Lanahan "Neal" Norris, age 94 of Cherry Hill, formerly of Pennsauken, passed away on December 1, 2015.
Beloved husband of the late Betty (nee Hambach); Devoted father of the late Kathleen and her late husband James Shiflet, Mary Beth and her husband Aron Adams, the late Robert, and Christopher and his wife Christine; Loving grandfather of Megan Carnell, David Shiflet, Andrew Shiflet, Colleen Renzi, Kevin Peelman, Jessica Criscuolo, Michael Adams, Ryan Norris, Sean Norris, Patrick Norris and Amanda Norris; and loving great-grandfather to many.
After serving four years in the US Coast Guard during World War II, Neal enjoyed a long career as Assistant Controller at Triangle Publications, the former publisher of the Philadelphia Inquirer, retiring in 1988. A tireless volunteer for his church and trusted believer in his faith, he was a charter member of St. Stephen's Church in Pennsauken. Always young at heart, Neal devoted his life after retirement to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was an avid follower of current events and the Eagles and Phillies. Rarely a day went by that he was not with family or friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation on Friday from 7 to 9 PM and on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 North Browning Road. Following the visitation on Saturday, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Stephen's Church, 6300 Browning Road in Pennsauken. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
