Dear Bernice,
We met you and Rick on the bus on the way to our first cruise to Bermuda. We had so much fun with you both. We did our own land tour by taxi where Rick included a visit to city officials, as well as the beaches. He was a warm-hearted, inclusive extrovert who knew how to combine business and pleasure. Your kindness didn't end on the trip, as you mailed us dozens of pictures of our vacation. Afterwards, we were fortunate to encounter you and your family in a restaurant one Easter where he offered kind words to our children about us. I want you to know that we feel fortunate to have made your acquaintance. I hope you take comfort in knowing that the world is a better place for having had Rick in it.

Dear Bernice, Scott and Holly,
Rick was so much to so many of us here in Pennsauken, greeting us all with a hug and a smile. We used to share recipes when we worked at the BOE, and still make his fabulous mussels casino. He had the funniest stories and sayings that would make you belly laugh. We will surely miss him, may you know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this most difficult time.

How sad and sorry We were to hear the passing of Mr. T. He WAS truly an inspiration to me and my family. We walked the halls of Pennsauken High School, and around town. Very few people enter ones life at a young age and makes such a profound impact that they remain a lifetime as Rick Taylor. Mr. Taylor was one of these men. Sent to his office for a “minor infraction”, Rick and I began a lasting friendship stretching long after my Pennsauken High days. He had a unique degree of charisma, strength, power, kindness, empathy and an absolutely unquestionable aura of honesty and TRUTH. As a High School VP he walked an uncanny tightrope between firm discipline and truly caring for each student. Long after my Class of ‘82 graduated and his retirement, Rick and I met up and spoke many times on many subjects.
I loved Rick Taylor and I will never forget a minute of our times together... may our Lord graciously welcome you... may you Rest In Peace.

I was deeply saddened when I heard of Rick's passing. He was a person you never forget. A man with a big personality that lit up a room. He was a kind, caring person. I so enjoyed working with him in the Pennsauken Schools. We say, when a person passes, "May his memory be a blessing." Rick will be missed by many but his memory will always be with us. I hope his memory warms your heart in this very sad time.

Mr. Taylor was my principal and he was one of the reasons I pushed myself so hard in school. He would address me as Dr. Jackson. He was an amazing example of what an African-American man should be, a role model for ALL. He will be truly missed and I pray that the family finds comfort in knowing they spent their lives with one of the best people ever. May the Lord comfort you during this difficult time.

Marcia Cooke I graduated the class of "77. Mr. Taylor was the Vice-Principal when I was a sophomore. I was going through some very delicate, personal issues that year and Mr. Taylor took an interest in me and saw something in me that I couldn't see.. I never thought I would make it through that year, let alone to graduate in my senior year. He took time out of his very busy days to make sure I was okay, he talked to me like I was somebody. He was very compassionate, empathetic and wise. I always had great respect for him. God bless you Mr. Taylor and rest your soul!

Dear Taylor family,
Where can one begin to share all the wonderful memories of such an extraordinary man, I’ll always see his smiling face.
One memory stands out. He assisted my neighborhood in an issue , while doing so he confronted the attorneys on opposite side saying” if the neighbors aren’t happy I’m not happy “. I knew then he was our champion.
There are countless times he helped myself and others.
You will never be forgotten.
Heaven has gained an angel. ❤️
Miss you Rick!
My deep sympathies

Mr. Taylor was my favorite Vice Principal ever! I talk to my kids about him and wished they had experienced having an amazing Vice Principal like I did. I remember getting out of trouble because Mr. Taylor took the time to listen and understand why I reacted the way I did during a conflict with another student. Praying for the Taylor family and you will be missed.

Mr. Taylor always had a smile and a kind word for me. I would sometimes go out of my way to go by his office for a smile. After graduating I later saw him passing in the township parking lot (he working at township, I working at the library.) Then in his last year saw him weekly at St. Stephen's, where I got my weekly hug. I will never get another hug from you or see your smiling face again in this world. I must wait until I am with you in heaven. RIP Mr. Taylor. My prayers are with the family and Pennsauken residents.
